My name is Eboni S. Williams and I am a Psychotherapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Life Coach. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Communication Studies from Howard University and my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Loyola Marymount University. I specialize in helping women adjust to life’s many transitions and make the changes needed to live an authentic and fulfilled life.
As someone who has raised five children, experienced marriage, divorce, career changes, and the trauma of living with someone battling severe mental illness and addiction, I am able to offer a unique perspective: my knowledge and empathy don’t just come from textbooks, but from real life experience.
My therapeutic approach is practical and down to Earth. It is important to me that my clients feel they can speak freely and honestly in our sessions (no judgement - come as you are!) I typically utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Person Centered, Solution Focused, and Mindfulness therapies. Because everyone is unique, both therapy and coaching can look different for each person. Therefore, my services are tailored to every client’s individual needs, wants, goals and personality.

A note about Psychotherapy vs. Coaching
Traditional psychotherapy or clinical counseling may only be performed by a state-licensed, qualified professional who has obtained a Master’s degree in a related field, completed thousands of hours of training under supervision, successfully passed a state Law & Ethics Exam, and the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE). Licensed therapists may assess, diagnose and treat cognitive, mental, and emotional issues utilizing evidence-based practices, interventions, and psychotherapeutic techniques. In therapy, your treatment might entail exploring past events to recognize how they may have contributed to current behaviors, and developing tools and techniques to alleviate your symptoms.
Coaching is different from therapy in that it often emphasizes short term goal setting and ways to achieve personal or professional aspirations. Today, there are multiple types of coaching services available (Life, Career, Fitness, etc.) and they need not follow a uniform method. Although it may have some similarities to therapy, coaching does not require licensing, credentialing or formal education. Anyone seeking paid coaching services is highly encouraged to perform their own due diligence to verify the coach’s individual qualifications and expertise in their stated area of specialty.
